I completely agree with this article about the chance of braille being everywhere in a matter of years. I do want to point out that the current college programs teaching soon to be teachers of the visually impaired teach not only braille, but Nemeth, and slate and stylus. Braille is BY NO MEANS gone from the toolbox of teachers of the visually impaired. The hard part for current teachers is continuing to keep up the skill in braille when you might go years between students needing the medium. Most teachers of the visually impaired love the code – it is often what drew them to the field.
