TBT – The National Agenda for the Education of Children and Youths with Visual Impairments, Including Those with Multiple Impairments

You might argue with me that this is not history and feel free to comment if so. I was rereading my little purple book and looked at the date. My National Agenda is the 10th anniversary revised addition, much like you, and it was written in 2004. That doesn’t seem that long ago to me but, when we get right down to it, it is. Then I looked through the Agenda with new eyes. We have accomplished parts of it, probably the largest of which would be NIMAS. Other sections are still a work in progress, such as university programs trying to close the critical shortage of TVIs and O&M specialists.

States gathered teams together to look how their state would address the agenda; plans were written. If your state had a plan you might find it here: http://www.tsbvi.edu/national-agenda/2553-national-agenda-state-plans

I hope we see a 20th addition with at least an affirmation of our National Agenda but maybe looking toward the future with new goals and plans. So much has changed in our world.

You can no longer order the purple book but all of the contents is located at the link below.
